As March closes, we end New Zealand Book Month (you have to love a whole country that comes together to celebrate it’s authors and reading in general). So far this year has been a love feast for our authors, and it’s not over yet, it’s almost April.. which means it’s almost Aussie Author Appreciation April! YAY!

I love the ANZ spirit and being able to celebrate OUR authors. Yes, we love authors from around the world, but sometimes it is kinda nice to admire some of the wonderfully talented authors out there and claim a kinship.

Throughout April we’re going to be introducing you to some great Australian authors, especially romance, science fiction and of course, here at Fangtastic Fiction,  paranormal romance and urban fantasy . We’ll planning a mix of interviews, blogs, giveaways, competitions, reviews, and maybe even a chat or two. It’s going to be fun!

But it’s not just us who want to celebrate our Aussie Authors. Groups of people from the blogisphere, twitter and facebook are joining in for a month long party, and we’d love for you to come play too!

So far there are about 30 people involved in hosting events for Aussie Author Month so there’ll be a wide range of activities going on. Leading the charge in celebrating Aussie Authors with us are:

Book Thingo : for all things romance related; expect great reviews, commentaries and help in creating To-Be-Read piles that have been known to bury small countries.

A Writer Goes on a Journey: bringing fantasy and science fiction to life via the Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFFWA).

The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader: a touch of romance, a dash of mystery and a dollop of fantasy.
