Here at Fangtastic Fiction we're avid readers of our favourite genres, and often follow authors as well as series we enjoy. We fall in love with our authors, the way they create characters that come alive, and we fall in love with the characters themselves.

There are so many terrific authors giving us excellent books. Here are a few favourites.

Jenna Black

Jenna Black was first introduced to me with her brilliant urban fantasy series about exorcist "Morgan Kingsley". She is now an 'auto-buy' author.

Her writing challenges pre-conceived ideas and pushes boundaries, but more importantly - it's good! She writes with style, flair and a great deal of imagination, taking the reader into new worlds and new experiences along with the wonderful characters she creates.

As well as the urban fantasy series that got me hooked, she also has a paranormal romance series "Watchers in the Night" which we bring in from the USA, and a brand new Young Adult series "Faeriewalker", with the first book 'Glimmerglass' due for a much anticipated Australian/New Zealand release in July 2010.

Debut Author

Gail Carriger

If you're following us anywhere, blog, newsletter, twitter... you'll know that without a doubt our favourite recent 'discovery' is Gail Carriger. Her debut book, Soulless, celebrated it's debut release in Australia and New Zealand simultaniously with book 2 in the Parasol Protectorate: 'Changeless', in May 2010.
