Brent Weeks was born and raised in Montana.  After getting his paper keys from Hillsdale College, Brent had brief stints walking the earth like Caine from Kung Fu, tending bar, and corrupting the youth. (Not at the same time.) He started writing on bar napkins, then on lesson plans, then full time. Eventually, someone paid him for it. Brent lives in Oregon with his wife, Kristi. He doesn’t own cats or wear a ponytail.

Brent Weeks sort of burst onto the fantasy scene with a hiss and a roar - and suddenly, everywhere you went, there was the Brent Weeks "Night Angel" trilogy.

Somehow I missed the hype, but noticed the books anyway (who couldn't with those covers.. how very very cool are they!) and tried out the debut novel "The Way of Shadows".

I'll rave about the series in the series review - but I love the way he writes! Witty, sarcastic with some nice dark humour, and very original.

I've heard rumours about another series due out in late 2010, apparently not related to the Night Angel series - so I am eagerly waiting to see what he comes up with next (I also live in eternal hope that the publishers will print a A-format version immediately, I hate having to wait for them to come out!).
