Sarah and Theirry are back, and it’s another fun romp through the Immortality Bites world, with a hint of death, destruction and mayhem, or at least a few curses gone amiss and the good-guy being the bad-guy being the good-guy! We’ve even got a bit of a cliff hanger ending in this, the second to last book in the series. I enjoy Michelle Rowen’s books, they’re always nice and easy to read. The subject matter is pretty light, and she has a pleasant flow through her books. If you’re looking for the perfect book to read while soaking in a nice bubble bath with a glass of wine and of the books in the Immortality Bites series is just perfect, with Stakes & Stilettos being a great example. For all that there is a bit of high drama, there really is nothing strenuous about this book. Of course, Sarah is a bit of a whiner, and although pleasant, I find her annoying enough to not worry toooo much when the fangs start a-flying. If you’re a fan of MaryJanice Davidson, you should already been hooked on anything in this series (and vice-versa). What else can I say? It’s fun. You’ll enjoy it. It’s book four in a series, so if you’ve made it this far, you’re going to enjoy this one too! I will say “argh” to the ending though. Thankfully this was released not long before book 5 (Tall, Dark and Fangsome) came out, so I’ve got it sitting on my book case waiting for me. This book really is a wonderful set up for a nice dramatic ending to the series. |
