Tips:

If you double click on another users name it will open up a new chat screen, depending on your settings, this may appear as another tabbed chat room (if you look along the bottom of the chat room you'll see a tab for 'freejavachat' and '#fangbooks, as well as the username you've just clicked on. This is called a 'private chat'. If you click back on the fangbooks tab you'll be back in the main room.

One big tip for new chatters, be careful which 'room' you're chatting in, more than one user has found themselves embarrased by pressing the send button when they THOUGHT they were in a private chat.

The Fangtastic Fiction chat is based on a system called 'IRC'. You are more than welcome to explore this world. One room that is always open is called the 'lobby' just type /join #lobby and press send and a new tab will open. This is a HUGE world of online chatters and chat rooms. If you're unfamilar with the world of online chats, please remember to take the same basic precautions as you would if meeting a group of people in a nightclub. Don't accept files/downloads from strangers is the online equivlant of don't accept drinks from strangers.

And of course there is dedicated software like mIRC that makes it easy to have multiple chat rooms running at a time.
