Finding a good book to read can be a matter of searching for the next release from a known and loved author, browsing bookshelves (virtual or real) or checking out book recommendations and reviews. But, what suits one person may not suit another. Take us at Fang for example. Obviously we love paranormal romance and urban fantasy with a good dose of science fiction, fantasy and suspense thrown in. And any well written book (think engaging characterisation, solid plot structure, a balance of action and reflection, logical and clever construction, emotional as well as imaginative overtones) will get our thumbs up. But within that context there are definite preferences that often cause us to have a good laugh at ourselves! For example, if you're looking at Paranormal Romance, Shifters or Historicals then Rosie is bound to be right there with you. And if your preference is more for Magecraft, Faerie, Urban Fantasy and Young Adult, then Ali will be leading the charge. In fact, we find that having differences in our approach really helps us to understand a lot of our customers and their differences too! So any time you want suggestions on books, please let us know past books you’ve enjoyed and your general preferences …. between us we’re sure to be able to send you some ideas that will suit! On 21 March the Paranormal Excellence Award for Romantic Literature (PEARLs) for books published in 2009 were announced - with a LOT of excitement in the twitterverse! Since our last newsletter we've added 29 new reviews to fangbooks!!! Our eyes are falling our of our (collective) heads, but in the past month we've indulged in some excellent books, and persevered thorough some we'd rather have given up on. Yep, we'd like to give you our thoughts on books we read so that you'll get a good insight into a range of recent releases and some tips on books you might like! Some books simply shine more than others. Alexis Morgan: I love the Paladins!Thankfully Alexis Morgan is such a good writer the series simply gets stronger and more complex as it develops. A highly recommended series! |

The Leopard Breed series is dark and gritty - quite different from a lot of Christine Feehan's other books. Feline psychology is more primal than human - so expect the full range of emotion, shocks and passion in this latest of the Leopard books. |

Christine Warren: I can't get enough of the Others series. Each book is a fascinating adventure into the world of shifters, but with believable characters and edge of the seat danger. As a bonus we now have the were-lion sheriff Ely Pace to pant over! |

Erica Hayes: My stress levels went through the roof with book one Shadowfae - a wonderful urban fanstasy horror. But the stakes are even higher with book two and we're in for a jaw on the ground, nails in the seat ride through the fae underbelly of Melbourne! |

Ilona Andrews: Okay, only one month to go before Magic Bleeds is released! Believe me, I've been counting the days because the first three books in this series have got me seriously addicted to Kate Daniels and Curran. Check out our reviews of the earlier books and you'll see why I'm excited! |
